‘The Creation’ is an original ballet inspired by The Legend of the “Fifth Sun” (El Quinto Sol), a very important story in ancient Mexica culture. The legend tells a story about the creation of the world and describes different ‘eras’ (cycles) of humanity. At the end of each cycle, the gods decide between destroying the universe via natural disasters or preserving it to make way for a new era of humans (those who have learned from the values and teachings of the gods). A humanity that lives with love and respect for nature, and for each other, will enjoy the favour of the gods and the continuation of their world.
